Keystone Native Plants

Keystone Native Plants In-Person

What can you do to help support native wildlife? Plant keystone native plants!! Want to learn more? Join the Master Gardener Volunteers from Cornell Cooperative Extension and learn more about native plants that are critical to the food web and necessary for many wildlife species to complete their life cycles. Without keystone native plants in the landscape, butterflies and native bees would not be able to survive resulting in detrimental effect on our birds as 96% of our terrestrial birds rely on insects supported by keystone plants. The Woodbury Public Library is sponsoring this event with the Cornell Cooperative Extension and Woodbury's Climate Smart Community Task Force. The Climate Smart Community Task Force will provide supplies for participants to plant native flowers.
